This
sanctuary is the brainchild of long-time animal advocate Gina Lynn who has worked on countless projects over the past 15 years. She was drawn into the movement by her disdain for vivisection and driven by her all-consuming
passion to fight for the protection of all animals.
Gina
always had a soft spot for animals, rescuing dogs, cats, birds and the
like at a very young age, and going vegetarian at age 11. She started
organizing animal rights events as a teenager, helped found several
groups and served on the steering committee of No Compromise
magazine for years. She’s traveled all over the country speaking,
organizing and protesting on behalf of animals, including participating
in the campaign against Huntington Life Sciences.

Gina was among a group of 5 arrested when they attempted to prevent
students from delivering rabbits to a UC Santa Barbara lab for a class
experiment, which was later permanently terminated. This was the first
of many times she would sacrifice her freedom for the cause.
Over
time, Gina was targeted by 2 federal grand juries, one investigating the 2000 liberation
of over 200 chickens from a Washington battery farm. She spent some
time in jail for resisting the query and, under the threat of 10 - 13 years for criminal contempt of court, eventually admitted
involvement in the action.
Gina has decided to take her activism in a new direction and see
this sanctuary as a positive, peaceful approach to getting the message of compassion across. She recently completed the week-long How to Start a Sanctuary course at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah!
